The Beginning of Ellwood Media
Welcome to the very first blog post on my brand-new website—and the very beginning of Ellwood Media.
Back in 2024, Ellwood Media was just a small idea in the back of my mind. At the time, I was working at Just Paintball UK running their marketing and social media pages, and on the side, I wanted to capture videos simply for fun. Nothing serious, nothing structured. I had a camera, I had curiosity… but I didn’t yet have direction.
This was me back in 2022 when I started working for Just Paintball UK.
To be totally honest, I didn’t put enough passion or energy into it. A whole year passed without much happening—just the occasional thought of “I should really do something with this.” And then came the summer of 2025.
Something shifted.
I realised that videography, media, photography—whatever you want to call it—was more than a hobby for me. I knew I wanted to work with my camera. I wanted to create. I wanted to build something and actually earn a living with my camera. So I made the decision to knuckle down and get things moving.
I reached out to local businesses and wedding venues, offering my videography services to help them refresh their visuals and promote what they do. At the same time, I was building my own portfolio, learning, growing, and rediscovering what made me excited in the first place: capturing moments in a way that feels meaningful.
Now, just two months into taking Ellwood Media seriously, I’ve launched my website (which you’re reading this on right now), and I’m genuinely excited to bring you along on this journey.
I’ve always loved taking artistic photos—those shots that make me pause and think wow. From an early age, I followed creators like Casey Neistat, Peter McKinnon, and Ben Maclean, admiring the way they told stories through a lens. They inspired me, but now it’s time for me to create my own identity in the media world.
My dream?
To work with big brands, to collaborate with ambitious businesses, and to give couples wedding films they’ll treasure for a lifetime. I want my work to have impact, whether it’s a commercial shoot or a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
So here I am—Jamie, 24 years old, stepping fully into the world of videography and media. Ellwood Media is only just beginning, but I can’t wait to see where this journey goes.
Thanks for being here at the start.
